When Claude Cook died in 1960, his peach trees were three years old and just about ready to begin bearing fruit. Raymond, the oldest son, continued to farm the trees and work at his full-time job. For several years Raymond's wife, Barbara, and Larry, the youngest son, sold the peaches under a small oak tree beside the driveway. As the business grew it was moved to its present location in the front of the cement block building where Claude had operated a country store. In 1995 the building was remodeled adding more shed space, and the front of the original building was removed to move the business off the busy highway. In 2000, the business expanded to include strawberries. After more than 40 years, peaches are still grown by the Cook family, hand-graded, and sold by the basket.
